Our suspicions have been confirmed! According to a recent story published in the Wall Street Journal, sales of luxury vacation homes are slowly rebounding and the clouds are “starting to lift” all the way from Santa Monica, California to the sunny shores of Hilton Head, South Carolina. In Jessica Silver-Greenberg’s article “Vacation Homes: Why it May be Time to Buy” – the WSJ writer cites reports from brokers across the nation that they are receiving more inquiries than they have had in years, as well as revealing statistics from the National Association of Realtors and the Federal Reserve.

At our own Cashiers, NC-based brokerage firm, Silver Creek Real Estate Group – we have experienced a very positive uptick in both the number of inquiries and the number of closings on second homes in recent months. Savvy investors have been able to take advantage of extremely desirable pricing on a generously-sized inventory of everything from land offering stunning panoramic views and a blank canvas on which to build one’s dream home, to a ready-to-occupy quaint cottage by a tranquil mountain lake, to a palatial luxury estate at the edge of an award-winning mountain golf course. Perhaps most attractive to potential buyers are the current listing prices paired with incredible interest rates – many at historically low levels.

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a vacation or primary home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, there may be no better time to buy than right now! You could be moved in by Labor Day Weekend, just in time to enjoy an unforgettable change of seasons as summer gives way to fall and the green trees are transformed into fiery shades of red, orange and gold. We invite you to peruse our listings in Cashiers,  Highlands, Sapphire Valley, Lake Glenville, and Lake Toxaway online at the Silver Creek Real Estate Group website. When you’re ready to take a tour in person, call Silver Creek’s talented team of brokers at 828.743.1999, e-mail us at info@ncliving.com, or fill out our convenient online contact form.  If you happen to be in the neighborhood, we welcome you to drop by our offices near the Cashiers Crossroads at the Shoppes at CreekSide.
