Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) Celebrates United Inaugural Flight to the Windy City
Today marked the inaugural United Airlines flight between Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) in Asheville, North Carolina. The new service runs twice daily on a 50-seat CRJ200 regional jet aircraft operated by SkyWest Airlines.
Since AVL is the closest regional airport to the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau, we’re excited about this new flight and the opportunities it gives to residents and area businesses, as well as to leisure travelers looking to explore our beautiful area. Not only that, it also opens the door for tourism from Chicago — the third largest city in the United States. You can book your trip now at www.united.com and www.flyavl.com.
